Joseph P. Winget is a member of the Missouri Bar and received his law degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia (J.D. 1990). Born and raised in Springfield, Missouri, he graduated from Missouri State University in 1987. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Missouri and Arkansas. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Western District of Missouri, U.S. Court of Appeals, 8th Circuit and the United States Court of Federal Claims. He is a member of The Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (Board of Governors, 2016 to present) and the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the American Association for Justice. In 2018, he was appointed Disciplinary Hearing Officer for the Advisory Committee of the Supreme Court of Missouri.
His practice is concentrated in the area of civil trial practice of personal injury claims, involving automobile/trucking accidents, products liability, premises liability, insurance coverage disputes and bad faith litigation. He also represents injured employees in worker’s compensation matters. He has tried numerous jury cases to verdict and has appeared and successfully litigated cases in the Missouri Court of Appeals, U.S. Court of Appeals, 8th Circuit and Missouri Supreme Court.
He has attained an AV peer review rating (the highest rating available) from Martindale-Hubbell. He is also listed in Missouri Super Lawyers. After graduating from law school, he spent the first 20 years of his practice with the firm of Turner, Reid, Duncan, Loomer & Patton, P.C. where he was a partner from 1996 to 2010.
